ARTICLE IV. MEMBERSHIP
Section 1. QUALIFICATIONS FOR MEMBERSHIP. Anyone who has ever done anything or thought anything and is of clubbable nature will be at home in The Tavern Club, whether engaged in the arts or sciences, in the world of romance and adventure, in "practical affairs," or in thoughtful contemplation

The Tavern Club is a unique haven for business and personal enjoyment.  It is also a place to pursue creative and intellectual endeavors and to do so within beautiful surroundings, combined with the friendship of others.  New members remark how easy it is to get acquainted and get involved.

Members categories include Regular, Junior, Non-Resident, Consular, Corporate, Military and Honorary.

Our clubrooms include general and private dining rooms serving lunch and dinner.   We have an excellent kitchen and bar, a stimulating entertainment program of general cultural and artistic orientation, and some fine views of the city.

Our members are unique in that we have been fortunate to attract the city's culture, artistic, and business leaders.  We are also distinctive because while we serve as a meeting place for members to conduct business, we also have a strong emphasis on social gatherings.  At the "Tav" you have the opportunity to meet your fellow Chicagoans.

Our reciprocals are both numerous and prestigious, including 7 clubs overseas, 24 outside Illinois, and over 40 in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs.   Tavern Club members have full access to Lakeshore Athletic Club's Stetson Street location five times a month.

ACTIVITIES
Members enjoy a lively calendar of stimulating events: outings to the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Lyric Opera, new plays, special art and museum exhibits, historical presentations and other cultural happenings.  You attend with other members, make friends, and gain an enhanced appreciation for Chicago's fascinating cultural scene.

You'll find the Club equally appropriate for family fun and business entertaining.   Facilities also include a library and other quiet areas, all places to read a book, relax and enjoy the Club environment.

The Club prides itself in a large and growing Junior Membership, dynamic Chicagoans who enjoy distinctive events and other social opportunities.

Membership also entitles you to reciprocal privileges at many other top quality private clubs in North America and around the world.
